Housecall Pro Pricing 2026: Plans, Add-Ons and Total Cost

September 23, 2026
· 11 min read

Housecall Pro publishes its plan prices and user counts, so you can price most of it before you talk to sales. The published number is rarely the whole bill, though. Only MAX can add seats beyond what the tier includes. Several popular tools are paid add-ons with no public price. Since July 2026, HVAC, plumbing and electrical businesses can also land on a second price list that costs considerably more.

Figures below are as of September 2026 and come from Housecall Pro’s pricing page, industry pages and help center, with third-party estimates labeled as such. We make Forz, a competing platform, so we’ve stuck to sourced numbers and flagged where Housecall Pro’s own pages disagree. Confirm current pricing before you buy.

Housecall Pro’s Standard Plans

PlanBilled annuallyBilled monthlyUsers includedExtra users
Basic$59/month$79/month1Not available
Essentials$149/month$189/month5Not available
MAX$299/month$329/month8$35/user/month

Some visitors also see a limited-time introductory discount on the plan cards; budget on the list price.

The seat rules decide which plan you’re on

Housecall Pro’s help center says additional logins are available only on MAX. In practice:

  • Basic is one login. A second person means Essentials.
  • Essentials stops at five. The sixth person moves you to MAX, which takes a five-person shop from $149 to $299 a month on annual billing for a single hire.
  • MAX includes eight, then $35 per user per month.

Count everyone who needs a login, including the owner, the dispatcher and office staff.

The July 2026 Trade Packages (HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical)

On July 15, 2026, Housecall Pro announced trade-specific packages for HVAC, plumbing and electrical, “available in multiple pricing tiers.” Its industry pages for those trades show a separate price list with Individual (one user) and Teams options:

PlanIndividualTeamsExtra users (Teams)
Basic$79/month, 1 user$79/month, 1 userNot listed
Essentials$229/month, 1 user$299/month, 5 users$100/user/month
MAX$349/month on the price card ($399 in the page FAQ)$649/month, 8 users$75/user/month

Three things on these pages are unclear, and we’d get each one in writing:

  • Billing period. The annual and monthly price slots show a “$XX” placeholder, so the pages don’t say whether these are annual or month-to-month prices.
  • MAX Individual. The price card says $349/month. The FAQ on the HVAC and electrical pages says $399/month as of July 2026.
  • Extra seats. The trade pages list $100 and $75 per additional user, but the help center still says extra logins are MAX-only. Housecall Pro hasn’t published how the two rules fit together.

Housecall Pro’s pricing quiz classifies plumbing and electrical businesses under this package (though the quiz itself still shows standard prices), and all three industry pages show the trade prices. If you work in one of these trades, ask which price list your quote is on.

The trade tiers also reshuffle features. HVAC and plumbing Essentials include the sales proposal tool, membership plans, equipment tracking, price book commissions, job costing and QuickBooks Online sync; the electrical version lists checklists and photo reports in place of membership plans and commissions. Trade MAX adds Pipeline, route optimization, AI pricing insights, open API access, a dedicated onboarding specialist and an account manager.

What Each Standard Tier Unlocks

Every plan includes live phone and chat support, the iOS and Android app in English and Spanish, offline viewing, business and consumer financing, and Housecall Pro’s AI team members. Beyond that:

  • Basic: online booking, scheduling and dispatch, estimates and invoicing, payments, price book, job costing and review management. QuickBooks sync and employee GPS tracking first appear on the Essentials card.
  • Essentials: QuickBooks sync (the plan card lists QuickBooks Online; the pricing quiz and Housecall Pro’s QuickBooks page also cover Desktop), “Routes” for grouping and sequencing jobs, flat-rate pricing, checklist automations, photo reports, employee GPS tracking and commissions. Pricing-quiz data also lists customer equipment tracking here.
  • MAX: the sales proposal tool, recurring service plans, one-click route optimization using live traffic, open API access and Zapier, advanced custom reporting, a dedicated onboarding specialist and escalated phone support.

If you bill through QuickBooks, Essentials is the realistic starting point. One-click route optimization means MAX. Recurring service plans are included on MAX or sold as an add-on below it, at a price Housecall Pro doesn’t publish.

Housecall Pro’s pricing page lists its add-ons without prices. Where a price is published, it comes from the plan cards, a feature page or the help center:

Add-onPrice as of September 2026
Additional users$35/user/month, MAX only
Vehicle GPS tracking$20/vehicle/month, no contract
Dashcam video monitoring$49/device/month, includes vehicle GPS
Tap to Pay on mobile$5/active device/month, plus card fees
Sales proposal toolIncluded on MAX (the MAX card calls it a “$40/mo value”); add-on below it, price not published
Recurring service plansIncluded on MAX; add-on below it, price not published
PipelinePrice not published (included in trade MAX)
Campaigns (SMS and email marketing)Essentials and MAX include up to 500 emails/month; paid plans $9 (Basic), $19 (Essentials) or $49 (MAX) per month, plus overage (help center, July 2026)
CSR AI, Voice, Websites, Payroll, Accounting, Business CoachingPrice not published
Multi-location and franchiseCustom pricing
Setup feesAmount not published; the help center calls them non-refundable

For the unpublished items, the only numbers available are third-party estimates. ServiceAgent.ai, which sells a competing product, put Pipeline, Sales Proposals and Voice at roughly $40 to $50 a month each in August 2026. Treat that as a ballpark.

Card Processing Fees

From Housecall Pro’s help center, updated July 20, 2026:

Payment typeFee
Card swiped, tapped or chipped (reader or Tap to Pay)2.59%
Card entered online by the customer from an invoice2.99%
Card keyed or scanned by staff, or saved on file3.49%
Amex, or a commercial, corporate or business card (any method)3.49%
ACH bank transfer1%
PayPal or Venmo2.99%
PayPal Pay Later or Klarna4.99%
Consumer financingFrom 3.9%
Mobile check depositFree

Instapay, the instant payout option, adds 1% on top of the standard fee, plus $0.75 on transactions under $75.

The advertised 2.59% applies to in-person payments. Card-on-file billing for maintenance agreements and corporate cards from commercial customers both run 3.49%, and on $40,000 a month in card volume that 0.9-point gap is $360 a month.

Contracts, Cancellation and the Free Trial

  • No long-term contract. You choose monthly or annual billing.
  • Upgrades take effect immediately. Downgrades wait until the end of the current billing period, so an annual term is paid through.
  • Cancellation starts in a support chat, but the help center (updated July 8, 2026) says billing isn’t cancelled or paused until a team member has spoken with the account owner by phone.
  • Refunds. A 30-day money-back guarantee applies only if it was offered at sign-up, and covers only the base subscription fee, not setup fees.
  • Free trial. 14 days with MAX features and no credit card required. Your data is kept if the trial lapses.

What Housecall Pro Costs at 5, 8 and 12 Users

Subscription only, before add-ons and card fees, as of September 2026:

Team sizeStandard, billed annuallyStandard, billed monthlyTrade package (billing period not stated)
5 users$149 (Essentials)$189$299 (Essentials Teams)
8 users$299 (MAX)$329$649 (MAX Teams), or $599 for Essentials Teams plus 3 seats if those seats can be bought
12 users$439 (MAX + 4 seats)$469$949 (MAX Teams + 4 seats)

The 12-user monthly figure assumes the $35 seat price is the same on both billing cycles.

At eight users, MAX is the only standard option regardless of the features you want, because Essentials can’t hold eight people. Hardware add-ons scale with the fleet too: vehicle GPS on eight trucks adds $160 a month, or $392 with dashcams.

Where Housecall Pro Fits Best

Housecall Pro is strongest for residential home-service businesses that compete on customer experience: online booking, review management, on-my-way texts, a customer portal, and a broad payments setup with financing, ACH and instant payouts. At standard list prices it’s inexpensive for a solo operator on Basic or a crew of up to five on Essentials, and the no-card trial makes it easy to try.

It gets harder to justify once you outgrow the included seats, get quoted on the trade package, or run complex commercial projects. Housecall Pro’s own documentation says it shouldn’t be described as software for large industrial, manufacturing or construction environments, and lists complex commercial project management among its limitations.

How Forz Compares

Forz is priced per user: $50 per user per month on annual plans or $60 month-to-month, with every core module included and a 10-user minimum. Optional extras such as usage-based AI, telephony and messaging, payment processing, third-party services and premium add-ons are priced separately.

At Forz’s standard rates, Housecall Pro’s standard plans have the lower subscription line at 5, 8 and 12 users. Against the trade package, Forz costs less at 8 and 12 users on either billing option ($500 and $600 a month on annual billing, $600 and $720 month-to-month, versus $649 and $949). For teams under 10 users at enrollment, the Small Business Program brings Forz to $250 a month in year 1 (below MAX’s $299 for an eight-person team) and $375 in year 2 on annual billing, before moving to the standard $500.

The bigger difference is what the price covers:

Forz also locks your core plan rate for three years and doesn’t require an annual commitment. See Forz pricing, the side-by-side Forz vs Housecall Pro comparison, or our Housecall Pro alternative page for commercial teams. Still weighing the two residential leaders? Read Jobber vs Housecall Pro.

For a small residential crew that lives on online booking and reviews, Housecall Pro’s standard plans are hard to beat on price. If you run recurring maintenance, commercial accounts or inspection work, book a demo and bring a real week of jobs to compare.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Housecall Pro cost per month?

As of September 2026, Housecall Pro’s standard plans cost $59/month for Basic (1 user), $149/month for Essentials (5 users) and $299/month for MAX (8 users) on annual billing, or $79, $189 and $329 billed monthly, with extra users at $35/month on MAX only. HVAC, plumbing and electrical businesses may be quoted from a separate trade package that runs from $79/month for one Basic user to $649/month for an 8-user MAX team, with no billing period stated.

How much does Housecall Pro charge per additional user?

On the standard plans, additional users cost $35 per user per month and can only be added on MAX, which already includes eight; Basic is fixed at one user and Essentials at five, so outgrowing either means upgrading. The July 2026 trade packages list $100 per extra user on Essentials Teams and $75 on MAX Teams, though Housecall Pro’s help center still describes extra logins as MAX-only, so confirm seat terms on your quote.

Does Housecall Pro require a contract?

No. Housecall Pro offers monthly or annual billing with no long-term contract, though downgrades only take effect at the end of the current billing period and its help center says billing isn’t cancelled until a team member has spoken with the account owner by phone.

Does Housecall Pro have a free trial?

Yes. Housecall Pro offers a 14-day free trial with MAX features and no credit card required, and keeps your data if the trial lapses. Because the trial runs on MAX, check which of the features you tested are included in the tier you plan to buy.

What are Housecall Pro’s credit card processing fees?

As of Housecall Pro’s July 2026 help center update, cards swiped, tapped or chipped in person cost 2.59%, cards entered online by the customer cost 2.99%, and keyed-in, card-on-file, Amex and commercial cards cost 3.49%. ACH transfers are 1%, PayPal and Venmo are 2.99%, and Instapay instant payouts add 1% on top of the standard fee.

Is Housecall Pro cheaper than Forz?

On Housecall Pro’s standard plans, yes: its subscription price is lower than Forz’s standard rates at 5, 8 and 12 users before add-ons, while Forz costs less than the HVAC, plumbing and electrical trade package at 8 and 12 users. Forz includes route optimization, recurring service agreements, inspections, QuickBooks Online sync and onboarding in every plan, so compare the Housecall Pro tier and add-ons you’d need against Forz’s $50 per user per month on annual plans ($60 month-to-month, 10-user minimum).
